My name is
Natialia Svoboda
and I was born and grew up in Siberia, Buryat Republic.
I think I should start my presentation with what I like:

From my ‘heat-loving’ ancestors who had lived by Black sea, I inherited my love for water in all its forms. That’s why I like swimming in summer, skating in winter, and meditate in the sauna all year round. I also like to draw, play piano, sing, and above all I like dancing, probably because I’m good at this the most.

I’m convinced that everything in the world is interconnected. One shouldn’t keep away from other people and ignore events in the local community. It’s sad to see people’s attitude towards me and other people where I live – this shows in reality their attitude towards themselves. In my country many people don’t realize their own value. They think their life is of a little worth compared to society. Such outlook brings about disrespectful behavior, which results in ignorance at someone’s expense: the state, the authorities, and the businessmen. One of my acquaintances once said: ‘The worse people would live, the better for me because then I can pay them the minimal salary’.

It was quite hard for me to see what in fact we are going to tell people with the exhibition. What would be more important to stress? What should be told directly and what should be only hinted for them? In the end we decided to be very open, direct, and raise serious issues. This way everyone will discover something new for him/herself.
