My name is Tuyana Gadyanova. I am nineteen years old and am attending the pedagogical college in Ulan Ude. I have been a volunteer with SCG since YTNF began. My motto in life is ‘When the thought of war comes, oppose it with the thought of peace’. I believe that by participating in YTNF I can help to realize this motto, as the themes explored in this project are central to the concept of making peace and not war. I also believe that this is an opportunity for me to contribute in a positive way to our society. The themes of this project – racism, human rights and social inclusion – are issues that concern my peers in contemporary Russian.
It is an opportunity for me to learn more about the themes of this project. For the last few years I have been an Aids-prevention volunteer in the Republican Centre in Ulan Ude, where I helped educate people throughout Buryatia on the theme of Aids-prevention. Now I would like to work within the project YTNF to learn something new because within this project I believe there is a movement towards bettering society as a whole and the project offers me the chance to work within a harmonious system.
On a personal level I hope that participating in YTNF will allow me the opportunity to gain valuable experience that I can use in both my life and my future profession. I think everyone should have a duty before society and I hope that through my participation in YTNF I can encourage both my friends and my peers to both participate and learn from this project. |
