Description: The aim of the seminar was to teach the PMT members how to do Fundraising, so that in future they can use this knowledge to get funding for their future projects.

SVIT Ukraine hosted and organized the Fundraising Seminar. At this training have participated 4 representatives from 4 countries: Moldova(AVI-MD), Russia(SCG), Belarus(NGB) and Ukraine(SVIT). There also was a guest from Sweden (IAL-Sweden).

The trainers of the seminar were Maria Louise Ruijter (VIA-Netherlands) and the prep-team from Ukraine.

Observation:

During the seminar participants mainly learned from each other by sharing their expirience and knowledge. The result of this was that everybody was actively involved during workshops and team-work..

From trainers we learned valuable knowledge about fundraising like:

Types of donors. (We were taught what materials to submit when making a project proposal, and how to make the donor be interested in the projects we write).

• Logframe .
• SWOT.
• SCI Fundraising Strategy.
• Youth Program.
• Ethics. From whom to take money?
• The importance of a leaflet.

The ways of teaching were interactive and information was easy to comprehend. We had role-play games, workshops and debates.

Results:  At the end of the seminar we wrote project proposals. Each country made a draft project that must be improved and implemented in the future.

Follow-up from participants:

PMT HR members will improve the project concerning Human Rights (that we wrote at the seminar).

PMT SI is going to organize fundraising (collect clothes, shoes, books) for a vocational Centre for disabled children from North of Moldova, then distribute collected materials to the children.

PMT SI will write a proposal for a winter-camp for that vocational centre.

All PMTs will write a proposal concerning organizing a concert for young people at Valentine’s day, for collecting funds, sources and partners .
