Group Leadership Training - Call-out for participants/Trainers In the period 2nd to 7th of March, AVI-Moldova will organize a “Group Leadership Training” for 19 volunteers (14 YTNF+ 5 international) who will learn about the concepts of leadership. This training will take place within the framework of the Youth Transcending New Frontiers project (YTNF) - sponsored by the European Commission.
For this training, “Group Leadership Training,” there are needed 14 YTNF volunteers, 3 from each country and 5 international volunteers. YTNF volunteers will be elected by their local organization and international volunteers will apply directly to us. The training will take place in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The main aim of the training is to bring together experienced and less experienced people in order to strengthen and improve the work in PMTs, so that YTNF project get success and a more efficient development. Besides, during this training you will have the chance to make intercultural exchange and establish/strengthen partnerships between your organizations. Everyone can contribute and we will be happy to get your contribution to reach these aims!
All people interested in leadership issues and committed to deal in future with SCI branches are invited. As the training is organized around workshops which require more or less experiences, everyone should be able to learn something. So let’s come with us to Chisinau and have some nice days together. Of course we want to have fun there, but we want also to work effectively on some subjects concerning the work in teams and leadership!
For this training, “Group Leadership Training,” there are needed two trainers that have experience and are willing to teach/share their knowledge about “Leadership”
Summary and goals of YTNF
“Youth Transcending New Frontiers” is, as the name suggests, the name of an exciting new project aimed to promote innovative activities of young volunteers at grass-root level in three main fields:
- human rights education;
- the struggle against racism and xenophobia;
- social inclusion of minorities and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds;
The project, which is supported financially by the Youth Programme of the European Union, started in January 2006 and will last for 2 more years. It takes place in four countries - Russia, Moldova, Ukraine & Belarus - and is managed at local level by SCI groups and partners.
Requirements for applying as a participant
- Proficiency in English is needed (and knowing Russian would be an advantage);
- Minimum age 18;
- Must be communicable and highly motivated;
- Must be ready to work in a group of international volunteers;
- Must be committed to participate in the whole duration of the training;
- Must be ready to perform a role of “multiplier” after the training or get somehow active in the organization you are part of;
- Must be active volunteers of SCI branches, groups or partner organizations. The training is also open and meant for motivated volunteers with only few experiences. Special sessions for newcomers will be organised!!!
Requierments for applying as a trainer:
Proficiency in English is needed (and knowing Russian would be an advantage);
·Must have experience in conducting trainings or making presentations on this topic;
·Must be communicable and highly motivated;
·Must have experience in working with a group of international volunteers;
Language of the training:
The training will be held in English. Official translation in other languages will not be provided.
Financial conditions for trainers:
All costs concerning meals and accommodation as well as the program and materials will be fully covered for the whole duration of the training and the prep-meeting. Travel and visa costs will be reimbursed 100% up to a maximum of 300 Euros. Further, a trainer fee is 250 Euros per day for EU representative, with kind request to donate 100 Euros back to SCI; and 100 Euros per day for CIS representative, with kind request to donate 40 Euros back to SCI. The fee will be paid for 6 days of work, including training, prep-team meeting and preparation prior to the training course.
On June 8, 2006 the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted the law on the unilateral waiver of the visa regime for citizens of the EU member states, USA, Canada, Swiss Confederation and Japan. According to the provisions of the law, the visa regime is abolished starting with the January 1, 2007. But, in case, the trainer comes outside the mentioned above countries and needs a visa in order to enter Moldova, the project will, as well, reimburse the visa costs 100%.
The trainer will discuss the program together with the prep-team by e-mail and during the prep-meeting on March 1st. Thus, frequent communication by email is expected among the prep-team members after January 22nd.

Financial conditions for voluteers:
Food and accommodation
- All costs concerning meals and accommodation as well as the program and materials will be fully covered for the whole duration of the training.
Travel expenses- volunteers will get travel reimbursement as it follows:
YTNF volunteers:
Russia- up to 200 euros
Ukraine- up to 50 euros
Belarus- up to 80 euros
Poland- up to 100 euros
Germany- up to 200 euros
Visa:
On June 8, 2006 the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted the law on the unilateral waiver of the visa regime for citizens of the EU member states, USA, Canada, Swiss Confederation and Japan. Participation fee:
For YTNFvolunteers a fee of 40 euros will be charged. Volunteers will have the chance to get 50% of the participation fee back if after a year they are still active in the project.
For International volunteerswho come from former Soviet Union countries the participation fee is 20 euros.
For others - 40 euros.
Participation fee must be paid at the beginning of the training.
