Call for Donation.

SCI Belarus with support of SCI Switzerland are announce campaign on collection funds for “Victim of Georgian Abkhazian Conflict” supporting Mikalai Kvantaliani fine.
Dear friends,
As you know Nikolai Kvantaliani, who is a member of board of SCI Belarus, due to participation in youth exchange in Georgia (30.06 - 05.07. 2009), was detained during arriving in Airport and blamed, that because he had travelled in Abkhazia half a year ago, through Russian – Abkhazian border he is charged by criminal article, which declaring "illegal entry to occupied territory of Georgia", and person can be punished, but imprisoning from 3 up to 5 years, or by fine 5000 usd, in palliative 3000 usd, in extra palliative 1200 usd.


On 30 June he was detained, when he arrived to Tbilisi Airport. On 3rd of July he had a trial in a court, and in the evening after accusation and paying the fine 2000 Lari (approximately – 1200 dollars) he was released but with the previous conviction by criminal article.

What:
We need to collect 1200 usd

Why:
We believe that the government of any country can’t use blackmail for achieving any political aims that simple people from other countries will suffer from that.

To whom:
Nikolai Kvantaliani, is one of the activitsts of SCI Belarus, who actively working on realization of different social projects for many years. He is working hard on developing civil socaety and promoting volunteerg in Belarus. For Nikolai this amount of fine is very high and that’s way we request for help.

Because Nikolai need to give back the amount that he took in debt.

It will be weekly update information about list of people and total sum of collected funds.
All collected extra funds will be used for the other girl who was in prison in Georgia by the same case.
