Children’s Day in Artemovsk
In order to celebrate the international children’s day on 1st of June in Artemovsk, also SVIT Ukraine was actively involved in organizing special games for the children in the central park. Our ecological ‘corridor of perception’ was a funny challenge for a lot of children participating in it. With blinded eyes their senses were tested in three kinds of disciplines. Firstly, the children had to walk over different natural materials, such as sand, dried grass or step into water. Then, they had to touch different soils and guess which one it is. Especially, the third discipline was a funny challenge when the children had to smell different spices and tell the correct name. Only natural substances have been used to make our corridor ecological and test the children’s awareness of their perception of nature. Of course after such a tough challenge there have been prices for the participants: handmade logos of SVIT as well as candies to sweeten up their success. The ‘corridor of perception’ attracted a lot of attention and interest not only of the children but even some adults joined our activity to test their natural perception abilities. Thus, under perfect sunshine the park of Artemovsk was turned into a place of action, explorative mood and festivity for celebrating the holders of this holiday: the children.

Dear friends, Workcamps have central place in the activities of SCI, and camp leaders, or coordinators, or teamers are in the center of them, in their turn. With this training, we aim to develop leadership capacities of SCI activists and prepare them for their role in international volunteer workcamps and youth exchanges. The training will include theoretical info and practical exercises, simulations and games. International group of participants will provide a chance to see in practice, how international group is developing, communicating, working together (on the training sessions), and of course having fun.
