On the 1st – 7th of March 2007 I was a participant of Group Leadership Training, which took place in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and was organized by AVI-Moldova. During this training I've got new theoretical information about leadership, motivation, team building, communication, conflict management and practical skills how to do presentations, to communicate with different people and to develop own leadership qualities. As for me all of workshops were organized in a good way, they combined lectures, brain storms, discussions and practical work in small and big groups. These groups were different every time, so it was possible to know all participants better and to improve our communication skills. Details...

On December 31st, the last day of the year, a group of volunteers prepared some games and some presents (with donation of fruits from a local businessman), and went to the boarding school for mentally disabled children to visit 10 orphans. The legend was, that we met "Ded Moroz", as Santa Klaus is called here, and he asked us to congratulate the children on this special day. We had some funny masks and balloons to create festive atmosphere. The children turned out to be older than we expected, and were shy at the beginning, but still eager to play easy and funny games we prepared for them. Then we gave them presents, albums and water-color sets, fruits and sweets. We ended up playing football with balloons, they all exploded as a result, but it was fun. Details...

On a nice autumn day of October 8th SVIT PMT members and some volunteers met in Kharkov to discuss completed activities in Ukraine, project development in general, and make plans for the future. We started with memories, what has happened from the beginning of the project, who did what and went where, how it was and what happened afterwards. The purpose was not just to refresh some nice memories, but also to get new volunteers informed and familiar with the project through the international glasses. Details...

Thursday 21 September 2006 A few days after my adventure with ants and lightening came to an end, I left the Crimea and travelled by bus to a small provincial city in the Ukraine called Berdyansk. There I took part in a two week project aimed at educating young people about gender issues. I was one of a number of volunteers, from the UK, USA, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and Italy. We stayed in a camp together next to the Sea of Azov and visited a number of local universities and schools and prepared workshops and led discussions about gender issues in the Ukraine and elsewhere. I found myself doing things that I thought I would never do, like facilitating presentations, and speaking to classes full of Ukrainian students. Details...

Hello, here are first impressions from Human Rights Traveler workcamp from participants. During seventeen days we visited four cities and three workcamps. Participants themselves developed workshops on human rights and later presented them for foreign volunteers. It was useful inspiring experience for all of us and soon you will have an opportunity to get acquainted with brochure of HRT! Here you can find our experiences, concentrated and filtered, so this may be useful for preparation of next traveling activities. Galyna This workcamp was not just about working – it was rather creating. From almost nothing we gained both knowledge and experience, and managed to start discussions about women and LGBT-peoples rights. Details...

Kharkiv, July 20 This nice sunny day Jasmin and Galyna met in Kharkiv to discuss details of coming Human Rights Traveller workcamp. As for now we have not that much experience in organisation of camps of such a type, it is important to think about all the points beforehand, to make activity as fruitful as possible. First days of camp will be concentrated on preparation and work on materials, so it will be good to arrange meeting with representatives of local organisations which deal with human rights. Also, there popped an idea to make a presentation of international organisations, e.g. Amnesty International, HR-UN-Tribunal. Details...
