Fairy tale in “Malyshok.”

On 3rd March a French circus show by “Les Frères Kazamaroffs” took place in the orphanage “Malyshok” - a volunteer post of Tina and Deborah – our EVS volunteers from Germany. “Malyshok” is a home for 105 children aged from 1,5 to 7 and has been a partner of SCG since 2003.
For one hour children and educators were carried away to a magic country of Chevengur where now for a thousand years it has been prohibited to train animals. So now for a thousand years in order to earn their living the Kazamaroff family has been training things. Little spectators were invited to a fairy tale where the members of circus family of thing trainers were taming “wild” sticks, balls, plates, and hats and playing different musical instruments: violins, trombone, accordion, and alt. Surely they will always remember this beautiful performance.

On 20 March 2008 a round table in Buryat devoted to the problems of the Buryat language took place in Ulan-Ude. The round table organized by the Social Inclusion PMT of SCG, in cooperation with the Regional Union of Young Scholars, the Human Rights movement “Erkhe,” and the “All-Buryat Association for the Development of Culture” followed the Politcafè “Why is the Buryat language dying?” that took place on the International Mother Tongue Day on February 21st. The organizers have an experience of conducting such language courses. Thus Siberian Creative Group used to conduct Buryat courses for its members in 2004-2006, and the RUYS started Buryat courses in Ulan-Ude and Novosibirsk last year. Details...
