New Coordinating Centres for Promotion of Long-Term Volunteering
Work will hopefully commence in January 2007 to establish two new Coordinating Centres for the Promotion of Long-Term Volunteering(LTV) in Ukraine & Moldova under the aegis of SVIT and AVI. The main aim of the new Centres is to facilitate the creation of up to ten new volunteer posts for foreign volunteers in Moldova and Ukraine by the end of 2008, as well as to train a pool of multiipliers in each country who will be responsible for implementing future LTV programs, also involving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The new project was agreed to be financially supported by the Jury of the "Foundation for Remembrance, Responsibility & Future"at its recent selection committee meeting held in Berlin in November this year. We see this new project as a significant, qualitative step forward for the voluntary service movement in both countries and also as an important additiion to the work being done in the frame of YTNF.
AVI Moldova is looking for two trainers for the group leadership seminar scheduled to take place from 02 - 07. March 2007 in Chisinau. Candidates should contact AVI for the application form.
