We met Ded Moroz On December 31st, the last day of the year, a group of volunteers prepared some games and some presents (with donation of fruits from a local businessman), and went to the boarding school for mentally disabled children to visit 10 orphans. The legend was, that we met "Ded Moroz", as Santa Klaus is called here, and he asked us to congratulate the children on this special day.
We had some funny masks and balloons to create festive atmosphere. The children turned out to be older than we expected, and were shy at the beginning, but still eager to play easy and funny games we prepared for them. Then we gave them presents, albums and water-color sets, fruits and sweets. We ended up playing football with balloons, they all exploded as a result, but it was fun.
For Janyary 7th, Orthodox Christmas, it is planned to take the orphans to the excursion to the village of Zvanivka, to see traditional Ukrainian Christmas performance - Vertep.
