It's Time for FREE HUGS!!! The action was started by Juan Mann, A man whos sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives. In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs campaign became phenomenal. As this symbol of human hope spread accross the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs campaign BANNED. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity come together in what can only be described as awe inspiring.
In the Spirit of the free hugs campaign, PMT Social Inclusion prepared for the second time in Chisinau a large activity involving many students, pupils, simple passengers and police agents :). Previous year we reached unexpected results from citizens of a country were people walk with eyes on the ground and look suspicious to each other, that's why we decided to bring again on National Volunteering Week (14-20 of April) this tradition.
The action will take place on a new and very nice park, which is famous for its number of plants, trees, bushes planted - Dendrariu Park. People that will like to join our 'hugging team' will have to stick to their T-shirts the FREE HUG LOGO and start hugging!
Also, volunteers will spread leaflets and brochures promoting information about AVI Moldova, YTNF and SCI, will collect signatures for different causes and not the last - will have a lot of fun and joy!
All those that badly need a hug are welcomed!!!
FACT: Everyone needs a Hug. I see it everyday in my line of work. So many people are looking for affection but they just can not seem to find it. So many sad people going home to an empty house. I wonder sometimes to myself, when was the last time person had a HUG? I saw a woman today close to tears while she spoke on the phone discussing a problem. I could hear her voice crack because she mentioned that there was no one at home to help her. It made me feel so sad I wanted to HUG her. I am sure just a simple word of encouragment and a hug would have gone a great distance to help her thru the day. I will keep my eye on her and ask her how she is doing. If you see something like this I hope you have more courage than me.
