“Dobre razom, or racism and xenophobia in Ukrainian society” international seminar

IVO “SVIT-Ukraine” is inviting you to take part to the seminar “Dobre razom, or racism and xenophobia in Ukrainian society”. The seminar is part of the “Dobre razom” project, financed with Jucker Mauderly/ SCI Switzerland and European Youth Foundation and organized in the framework of Council of Europe campaign “All different – all equal”, and long-term project “Youth transcending new frontiers”.

The seminar will take place in Kharkiv on November 17-18.

The goal of the seminar is to discuss problems with racism and xenophobia in Ukrainian society in general, compare situation in different cities and regions, and also in other European countries; discuss further joint steps and concrete activities on combating racism and xenophobia. During the seminar outcomes of international study visit will be presented, which took place in August-September 2007 in Kharkiv, Lviv and Kyiv. Also participants will have an opportunity to learn about the work of international voluntary service organizations, Service Civil International, and about international volunteer projects.

We are inviting representatives of partner organizations involved in YTNF project, who are interested in the topics of the seminar and willing to actively contribute to it. The working languages of the seminar will be Russian and English.

Participants of the seminar will get 70% of travel costs reimbursed, up to the following maximum:
- Moldova, Belarus – 50 Euro
- Buryatia – 350 Euro
- Poland – 80 Euro
- Germany – 150 Euro

There is a participation fee of 10 Euro for EU, and 3 Euro for CIS countries. Food and accommodation will be fully covered.

To take part to the seminar, you need to fill in the following application form and send it to info@svit-ukraine.org by the 5th of November. Selected participants will be notified by November 10th.
